康有为翻译思想发端于国势之日孱,期盼以译启民、以译觉世、以译救国,冀效泰西法东瀛而达于华夏之强盛。康有为文化民族主义的翻译思想十分明显。他倡译日书、西书以挽民族于狂澜,以积大同蓝图之跬步。作为观念性之存在,康有为翻译思想发乎文化民族主义而止乎文化世界主义。二者貌虽相悖,质则相谐,为彼丰厚之儒学佛学根柢所赐也。换言之,儒家和谐哲学与佛学之“大乘不废小乘”圆融相洽之妙境有功于康有为翻译思想内蕴之积淀。康有为涵注儒学与佛学以时代之新义,其翻译思想亦可视为其对儒学与佛学之现代传承与改造之一斑。
Kang Youwei’s thought of translating originated in the days of China. He hoped that by translating the Kai-qi into the world and by translating the world, it would be better for China to achieve its goal of translating the country and establishing an effective operation. Kang Youwei’s thinking on cultural nationalism is quite obvious. He advocated the translation of the day book, the Western book to pull the nation in the tide of the storm, to plot a blueprint for the step by step. As a conceptual existence, Kang Youwei’s translation thoughts start with cultural nationalism and stop with cultural cosmopolitanism. Although the two appearances contrary to each other, the quality of harmony, for his generous Confucianism Buddhism also gave. In other words, the Confucian harmony philosophy and Buddhism ’s “Mahayabujiujiu” harmony between the merits of Kang Youwei implication of the translation of ideas accumulated. Kang Youwei connotes the new meaning of Confucianism and Buddhism in the new era, and his translation thought can also be regarded as one of its modern inheritance and transformation of Confucianism and Buddhism.
