节目包装(Program Packaging)既是节目内容展现的一种外在形式,也是渗透在节目创作各个环节的内在表现手段。在实际操作层面,它根据节目的形态、内容和特点,借助新颖、鲜明、风格化甚至夸张的表现形式,对电视栏目或频道进行整体形象的塑造和推介,并且独立或辅助节目主体完成特定信息的传达。节目包装在整体节目规划和创作中既相对独立、又强调融合,是表现手段最为丰富、技术实现最为繁复的环节——它利用实拍图像、图形生成以及字幕与声效等常用电视元素,通过特效手段的整合,追求在相对短的时间和篇幅内营造形式上的冲击力和内容上的感染力。由此节目包装成为了荧屏上形式最为多样化、内容最为浓缩化、视听最为生动化、技术手段最为前沿化的传播形态。
