新农村位于汉川县分水镇西郊,共486户,1969人。自改革开放特别是1991年以来,在省八届人大代表、村党总支书记、村企业集团总公司经理胡光成的带领下,该村由单一农业经济的农业村,发展成为以工、贸、商为主体的初步繁荣富强的小康村。目前村办企业已发展到14家,形成了药用包装、编塑化工、饮料调料、饲料蛋白、建筑建材等五大系列产品和服务项目的企业集团。“拳头”企业药用玻璃厂自1979年创建以来,已发展到拥有2800万元固定资产,13条全自动化生产线、1200多名职工的规模,具有年产1—5毫升曲颈易折安瓶3亿支,5—7毫升西林瓶8亿支,100—500毫升大输液瓶1亿支的生产能力,成为国家医药总局在中南六省最大的医药包装定点生产厂家。该厂产品畅销全国18个省、市(区)、行销东南亚、巴基斯坦等国家和地区。1995年,该厂实现产值6500万元,制税380万元;全村企业实现产值15229万元,集体纯收入750万元,人均纯收入2500元,今年可实现企业产值2亿元,集体纯收入1000万元,人均纯收入3000元。
