The United States has designed a mini-solar pump designed to irrigate 1 hectare of land. It can lift 50 to 150 cubic meters of water a day, depending on exposure and head. On a 1.5 hectare farm, with a lift of less than 5 meters, this pump is more suitable than a common diesel and electric pump. Such pumps can be manufactured and sold in developing countries. India is building the first manufacturing plant with a capacity of 12,500 units a year. The pump consists of four main parts.
