In this paper, the transmission Müssbauer method was used to determine the content of austenite in a set of standard samples and the experimental results were consistent with the known contents. The residual austenite content in M_2 high speed steel under different heat treatment conditions was measured by backscattering X-ray M (?) Ssbauer method and X-ray diffraction. The results of the two methods can be compared with each other.
