古代司南的发展历程展示了中国古代科技文化发展的一般逻辑。具体的应用技术在最初都是以一种或一类具体的自然物的特殊属性的发现和直接运用为基础,进而在发展中衍生出新的应用方法。这种新应用方法的依据只要还是这些自然物的特殊属性,那么这些新的方法依然具有强大的生命力,而且还会继续朝前发展。同时,由于几乎所有的应用技术都是在特定的时代、特定的社会背景下发展起来的,因此这些技术必然地要受到当时文化背景的影响,带上特定的世界观印记,如果当时的世界观中具有非科学的信仰性内容,那么这种原本只是纯粹的应用技术随之会带上非理性的内容。从应用科技的角度而言,科学的内容总是具有极强的生命力,在实践中它总是会自觉地离开迷信和误区,独立发展。与此相一致,我们在考察和继承古代科技文化遗产时,必须采取科学的方法。
The history of ancient Si Nan demonstrated the general logic of the development of ancient Chinese science and technology and culture. The specific application technology is based on the discovery and direct application of the special attributes of one or a kind of specific natural objects in the first place, and then the new application methods are derived from the development. As long as the basis of this new application method is still a special attribute of these natural objects, these new methods still have strong vitality and will continue to move forward. At the same time, since almost all application technologies are developed in a specific era and specific social context, these technologies inevitably have to be influenced by the current cultural background and bear the mark of a particular world outlook. If there are Non-scientific belief content, then such a pure application of technology will be followed by irrational content. From the perspective of applied science and technology, the content of science always has strong vitality. In practice, it always consciously leaves superstition and misunderstanding and develops independently. Consistent with this, we must adopt a scientific approach when examining and inheriting ancient science and technology and cultural heritage.
