Three closely related Ras proteins, Kras, Hras, and Nras, are members of the Ras superfamily of small molecule GTPases that act as molecular switches that transmit extracellular signals that trigger a series of basic cellular processes including proliferation, survival and Differentiation [1,2]. Cancer biologists have found that there is a high rate of mutation in genes that encode these proteins in human tumor cells [2,3].
