Statistical analysis was conducted on the demographic data of 9 cancer registries in the United States. The data from 1973 to 1991 included approximately 10% of the U.S. population. During this 19-year period, a total of 43309 patients with malignant melanoma were registered. Among them, 40320 cases of malignant melanoma of the skin accounted for 93.1%, 2240 cases of malignant melanoma of the eye, accounting for 5.2%, and 740 cases.
