我国著名作家、当代中国文坛杰出的散文大师秦牧同志,于今年10月14日心脏突然停止了跳动。我们深切怀念他。秦牧同志生前对广东省文史研究馆的事业非常关心,曾予热情支持。两年前,当他得知该馆编写《粤海挥塵录》(萧乾主编的《新编文史笔记》丛书第一辑12分册之一)的组稿计划后,便不顾七旬高龄,在百忙中惠赐鸿篇。此外,他还支持该馆编辑出版冼玉清教授和张竞生博士的文集,并答应为拟出版中的《冼玉清文集》作序。今年9月19日,秦牧同志应邀出席了广东省文史研究馆举办的《新编文史笔记》丛书(第一辑)出版座谈会,并在会上作了热情洋溢、内容充实、十分可贵的发言。然而我们万万没有想到,会后不到一个月,秦牧同志就匆匆离开了人世,他的这次讲话竟成了遗言!我们特发表秦牧同志这篇发言,以寄哀思,并供同人研究参考。
