高等教育自学考试的开放性、灵活性与效益性决定了其与终身教育之间的契合性。自学考试有利于扩大高等教育规模,促进继续教育、职业技术教育的发展以及教育的社会化和生活化进程,有利于终身教育体系的构建。因此,自学考试应加大本科教育、非学历教育力度,推进农村自学考试建设,加强与其他教育形式的沟通、合作,并积极探索自学考试组织管理机制改革,以及加强课程建设等,发挥自学考试在构建终身教育体系过程中的作用。
