SAE Paper 800906 Testing Equipment for Measuring Suspension Parameters for Heavy Duty Trucks This paper presents a new type of equipment for measuring the ride, kinematics and Coulomb friction characteristics of heavy truck suspensions. This device can test single or double bridge front and rear suspension. This article describes the determination procedures for vertical and lateral stiffness, kinematics and steering compliance of heavy truck suspensions. The quantitative determination results are discussed, together with the example data.
