(Beijing: The Commercial Press, 2004) Translation is an extremely ancient activity whose ancient nature can even be compared to the language itself. By definition, translation refers to the act of converting one kind of language information into another kind of language information on the basis of accuracy and smoothness, and transforms a relatively unfamiliar expression into a relatively familiar expression. It was initially regarded as a technology, however, with the continuous appearance of translation works and the continuous development of translation, translation has gradually been regarded as a technology, a science.
