In the literature, there is a lack of clear criteria for the distinction between classifiers (also called individual quantifiers) and other quantifiers, and many scholars do not even distinguish them. The purpose of this article is twofold: first, to classify the classified words and quantifiers precisely by the concept of multiplication in mathematics; secondly, to apply the criterion of distinguishing words to Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan, China (that is, Mandarin in Taiwan, China) ), Will be the actual classification of thesaurus listed. In terms of the distinction between classifiers and quantifiers, we argue that both of them are syntactically belong to one part of speech, but semantically belong to two sub-classes, and reiterate that the first proposed classification by Greenberg (1972) is “by 1 ” Mathematical concepts, and the complete explanation extended by He Wanshun (Her2012): In the phrase of [nouns X nouns], the relation between a numeral and a multiplication of X is [number XX]; if X = 1, then X is Category words; otherwise X is a quantifier. On this basis, we have carefully examined the taxonomic terms quoted by our predecessors in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwan, and proposed a detailed list of our amendments. We hope this article serves as a template for distinguishing other language terms.
