为克服h指数评价个人科研能力时有可能出现多人具有同一h指数,从而无法进行细分这一缺陷,对h指数进行一次修正,设计出一种功能更强大、使用范围更广泛的hi指数,介绍hi指数的定义、原理和方法,并使用hi指数对我国图书馆学、情报学领域部分作者进行评价以证实其效用。最后总结hi指数与其他几种形式相似的类h指数方法之异同,界定各自的适用范围,并指出hi指数的最大优点就是在整个评价过程中都贯彻发文量与被引量相结合的思想。
