Kate Chopin’s novel takes women as the main body of the narration, adopts a carnivalized narrative perspective to describe the awakening of the middle-class women’s self-awareness in the United States, and reflects on her consideration of the status quo of women and their subjective consciousness. Taking the representative works of Chopin, One Hour Story, One Upright Woman and Awakening as the research texts, the article interprets the carnivalized literary quality presented by the awakening of the heroine, Contrasting the profound connotations of the theme of the novel in the two-way contrast, and constructing the unique three-part female poetics of “Carnival - Subversion - Awakening”.
