歌剧作为一种涵括音乐、文学、舞台表演等多种艺术形式的综合艺术,特别适合使用多元性、异质性为特质的互文性理论进行研究。歌剧脚本的互文性研究,是在将歌剧脚本当作戏剧文学的前提下,以互文性理论为研究方法,广泛吸收戏剧改编学、跨学科研究、文化研究、比较文学影响研究等研究理论,形成的适用于歌剧脚本这一特殊文学类型的批评、研究方法。歌剧脚本与源文本、音乐、后世文学的互文性关系构成了歌剧脚本互文性研究的三种研究范式。
