This paper describes the influence of cold deformation temperature on the retaining ring performance of 18Mn5Cr steel generator in strain hardening process. Commercially available grommet and laboratory-made small 18Ma5Cr steel rings were used. Ring cold deformation temperature ranging from room temperature to 350 ℃. Although the optimum temperature of the cold deformation process is said to be about 180C from the ductile point of view, it has been found that cold deformation at a temperature of 200C or higher results in significant ductility, toughness, and stress corrosion resistance in artificial seawater change
