南北朝正史“西域传”包括《魏书·西域传》、《周书·异域传》和《梁书·西北诸戎传》。其中最重要的是《魏书·西域传》。本文有关论述以此传为主,其余三传的内容附见于后。如所周知,魏收所撰《魏书·西域传》久已逸失,今本《魏书·西域传》乃后人自《北史·西域传》采入。〔1〕后者是李延寿据《魏书·西域传》、《周书·异域传》和《隋书·西域传》编成。本文所据《魏书·西域传》为魏收原文,亦即从《北史·西域传》中剔除《周书·异域传》和《隋书·西域传》后的文字。〔2〕《魏书·西域传》有关西域诸国地望的基本判据如下。
The Northern and Southern Dynasties Zheng Shi “Western Regions Biography ” includes “Biography of the Western Regions of Wei,” “Biography of the Zhou books” and “Biography of Liang Shu Northwestern”.
