A transient ischemic attack is a reversible episode of neurological dysfunction due to a blood supply disorder in one area of the brain. In patients with atherosclerosis, this is usually caused by stenosis or occlusion of the arteries or by micro-emboli that come off of atherosclerotic ulcer sites. The importance of the disease is that it is a harbinger of cerebral embolism and anticoagulation and surgery have been used to prevent the disease in the past 20 years. However, how and where the guidelines for adopting such therapies have so far not been fully defined. Case Profile From 240 patients who were hospitalized between 1964 and 1973 in this disease (both aortic arch and four arterial brains supplying cerebral circulation), 160 patients who had at least one episode within one month before admission were selected for analysis . At admission, 119 of 160 patients had no nerves
