The Xi’an Incident that broke out on December 12, 1936 caused a strong and complex response at home and abroad. At the international level, Japan tried to stir up the Chinese civil war in order to take the opportunity to invade China on a large scale; Anglo-American fear of the killing of Chiang Kai-shek and pro-Japanese power. To undermine China’s interest in China, it advocates maintaining certain forms of cooperation with the Chinese Communist Party under the precondition of maintaining Chiang Kai-shek’s status. At home, the majority of the middle class fear that the incident will lead to a greater civil war and almost unanimously demand the restoration of Chiang Kai-shek’s freedom. Pro-British and American factions also insist on rescuing Chiang Kai-shek and advocate peaceful resolution;
