孔尚任的《桃花扇》问世至今已近三百年。检读有关评论,除掉非正常的十年大革文化命时期外,可说基本上是被视为文苑奇葩而备受赞扬。同时,在本世纪,它还不断被改编成戏曲、话剧、电影以至小说,从而又于经过推陈出新、移步换形之后,继续在现、当代文艺百花园中展其芳姿。实践永远是检验真理的唯一标准。上述种种对《桃花扇》的佳评和热中于改编它,都是作品客观产生的社会实践效应的一种。在研读这部作品时,不能无视这些事实,并须给予正确的估价和分析。
Kong Shangren’s “Peach Blossom Fan” came almost 300 years ago.
