我国大型球罐现场组焊长期以来采用手工焊接,费工、焊接进度慢、质量不稳定,这是多年来急待解决的问题。中国石化第三建设公司自1993年6月以来就上述问题进行了开发攻关,采用自动焊接工艺技术。1994年5月采用自动焊接工艺技术完成了镇海石化总厂6台1000m~3球罐的焊接,焊接质量一次合格率为95%以上,最高达98.7%,一级片率达84.9%。该球罐群验收投产一年来,运行稳定,质量优良。1995年3月又相继采用全位置自动焊接技术,完成苏州液化气厂两台1000m~3的球罐的焊接,焊接工期每台球罐31天,质量一次合格率达99.5%
