尧头古镇是黄河流域著名的生产陶瓷的民窑,烧制历史可追溯至唐代。尧头遗址被称为我国原生态陶瓷的活化石。黄土丘陵地区沟壑纵横的地形赋予了古镇独特的窑洞聚落选址与布局,依山顺势修建的窑洞民居院落体现了建筑与自然、人与自然的互融性。塬顶山梁上的古窑址功能分区明确,馒头窑是尧头高温烧制陶瓷的主要窑炉。
Yaotou ancient town is the famous production of the Yellow River basin of civil kilns, firing history can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty. Yaotou site is known as the living fossil of China’s native ceramic. The gully vertical and horizontal terrain in the loess hilly region gives the site location and layout of the unique cave dwellings in the ancient town. The dwelling houses in the cave dwellings show the integration of architecture and nature, man and nature. The top of the mountain ridge on the ancient site features clear kiln, bread kiln is the first high-temperature firing Yaotou kiln.
