19th century French writer George Sand was hailed by her readers and critics of that era as “the vanguard of Saint-Simonism” and “the guru of liberation of women.” Her success not only broke the “sub-literature ” phenomenon of the female writing at that time, but also provided spiritual strength to the women of the later generation and self-improvement. Her early works, both women’s love and marital life as a theme, draw inspiration from their unlucky marriage and marriage life, and by virtue of their innate democratic awareness and their longing for free love, she wrote about the bondage and injury to women of the old marriage. Particularly valuable is that while calling for women, she still has not forgotten to emphasize the reciprocity of gender equality and pay attention to men’s rights in marriage. Her fraternity finally developed into an ideology of equality, a kind of thinking and care for all mankind.
