1996年5月2日,国务委员兼国家科委主任宋健在阅读“人脑与电脑的较量”(登载在《科技日报》5月1日第8版)、“6500万年前,地球遭受了一次劫难”(登载在《中国科学报》头版)两篇科普文章后,对《科枝日报》作了重要指示。宋主任的指示全文如下: 夜读5月1日《科技日报》,觉得第8页半栏载信息所(编者注:此处指中国科学技术信息研究所)张保明同志大作“人脑与电脑的较量”,写得很好,科学性、普及性、思想性都不错,既是科技综合新闻,也是一篇有吸引力的高级科普好文章。我一直希望《科技日报》能多约一些这类稿子,增加对读者的吸引力。 今天看到《中国科学报》头版登了欧阳自远院士关于外来天体对地球的碰撞的过去和未来一文(编者注:指“6500万年前,地球遭受了一次劫难”),也是引人入胜的。该文是引用作者在《科技报导》上登出的一篇专论,改写而成,效果也很好。 当代科技发展的前沿、生物、粒子物理、天体物理(大爆炸及其他)、生命和起源、微电子及通讯等领域,都需要有类似张保明和欧阳自远这样的文章,不拘于独家专稿。多登这类作品,我敢断言,会大大提高报纸在知识界的地位和吸引力,潜在订户也会增加。 读报随想,草陈于上,敬请参考。 本刊在新增设的《科普园地》栏目中,摘登“人脑与电脑的较量”、“6500万年前
