赵光明是东北民主联军第七纵队第十九师第五十六团团长.1937年春参加革命,1938年5月加入中国共产党.历任武工队长、营长、支队长、副团长等职.1947年12月28日,在解放辽宁省彰武县的战斗中英勇牺牲,时年33岁.赵光明1914年8月27日出生在新民县大柳屯乡大荒地村一户贫苦农民家庭.1928年春到奉天(今沈阳)小津桥的东北军被服厂学徒.1930年学徒期满,成为一名做军服的缝纫工人.1931年“九·一八”事变后,日本侵略军关闭了赵光明所在的工厂,封锁了粮栈,全城老百姓陷于难以生存的境地.1932年4月,他怀着对日本侵略者的仇恨,参加了原东北军被服厂中共地下党组织的“抢粮斗争”,事后遭到日本宪兵队的搜捕.
