This article first reviews the break of Irish literary tradition and its relationship with Irish literary translation in the 20th century, pointing out the influence of colonialism and de-colonial ideology on early English translation of Irish literature. Taking the English translation of the Irish national epic, Take The Cow, for example, this article gives an overview of the English translation strategies of the domesticationists represented by Mrs. Grigory and points out the origin and the defects of the strategy and cultural hegemony. Then it focuses on the English translation strategy of Alienation represented by King Sera, which is consistent with the trend of decolonialism in Ireland, which marks the shift in the English translation strategy of early Irish literature. Finally, it is pointed out that the strategy of Chinese translation of “DiNiu Ji” is a continuation of its strategy of English translation.
