背景(1) 在中国经济持续迅速发展及将加入WTO的大环境背景下,2001年6月起上海出现了新的一波海外留学热的高峰。联合国教科文组织的一份调查报告称,中国留学生人数在全世界居首位,截至2000年底,全世界108个国家的学校里共有留学生160万人,其中38万人是中国留学生,他们在103个国家的学校里留学,占全球留学生人数的23.8%。另据报道,在美国读书的外国留学生中,中国留学生占10%。在日本读书的外国留学生中,中国留学生占30%。 Background (1) With the continuous rapid development of China’s economy and its entry into the WTO, a new wave of overseas study fever has emerged in Shanghai since June 2001.
