The “three-eighth line” refers to the 38-degree north latitude line. In the Korean peninsula, the line is about 300 kilometers long. It was originally a natural and geographical line that roughly divided the Korean Peninsula. In 1910 Japan annexed the Korean Peninsula. In February 1945, Japan divided the Japanese troops deployed on the Korean Peninsula into two parts with the “three-eight line” as the boundary. The north was under the command of the Kanto Army, and the southern part was under the headquarters. The real “three-eight line” as the dividing line is when the Second World War is drawing to a close. August 10, 1945, The United States Eavesdropping Day
