所谓VSAT系统,就是利用口径小于2.4米的甚小地球站(Very Small Aprture Termi nal)组成的通信网络系统。它是卫星通信技术高度发展的产物。VSAT系统出现于本世纪70年代末、80年代初,至今已发展到第三代。VSAT系统不仅体积小、造价低,还具有卫星通信系统的大部分特点。第三代VSAT系统具有传输高速数据的能力,网络在很大程度上是由软件控制的。VSAT系统通常有两种类型:一种是双向VSAT系统,它通过由“枢纽”站控制的很多VSAT终端
