Harmonic radar is a new radar system developed in recent ten years and has attracted people’s attention at home and abroad. It has been reported that a harmonic radar for vehicle crash prevention has been made and several shipborne, ground and airborne radar systems have also been manufactured and tested. The work of harmonic radar is based on the principle that some objects produce harmonic radiation on irradiated electromagnetic waves. Many metal man-made objects radiate harmonic frequencies under the irradiation of high-power microwaves, and most natural objects, including plants, earth and sea, do not generate harmonic radiation. This phenomenon occurred early in ship communications and has recently also taken place in satellite communications. The physical structure of the harmonic radiation is not yet clear, some people think that is due to the electromagnetic transfer properties of objects in non-linear caused. Semiconductor diodes with exponential voltage-current characteristics enhance the harmonic echoes of many objects and are an excellent target for harmonic radar. Text will
