One of the reasons for the failure of planting treatment is the serious problem of aesthetic appearance and function of implants due to the “black triangle” and impaction of food caused by insufficient or missing gum papillae around the implant denture. How to prevent and treat implant denture around the “black triangle” is the difficulty of implant repair. In addition, patients with periodontitis have a greater risk of reducing the height of the gingival papilla. The article reviews the risk factors that affect the height of the gingival papilla around the implant, the methods of prevention and alteration, and highlights the associated risks of periodontitis due to the loss of the interphalangeal bone.
