美国情报学家加菲尔德提出的期刊影响因子概念,是基于美国计量学家普赖斯论证的文献被引高峰期为文献出版后的两年的结论,但出版后的两年是否包括出版当年存在不同的理解。而影响因子计算公式中的分子所表述的“两年”是指文章发表的两年,不是文章被引用的两年;分母也不是一年发表文章的总和,而是两年发表文章的总和,这与引文高峰期的“两年”是不同的概念,为什么是两年也没有令人信服的答案。通过对我国图书情报类核心期刊发文与被引证关系的研究,将期刊影响因子的计算公式修正为:现年影响因子=三年前发表的文章在三年内的被引总次数/三年前发表文章的总和。
