近20年来,医学科学发展进程中,急诊医学成为一门独立的学科是一项重要的成果。与此同时,急救医疗工作也逐渐以新的面貌为危急病人服务。这是一项正在日渐发展的医疗事业。由于历史背景、社会结构和医疗水平的各异,各国急救医疗组织很不相同,发展的水平亦有差别。但是有一点是普遍的趋势,即由于卫生事业的资源是有限的,而各类急症病人数逐年增加,所以必须使所掌握的资金、设施、装备和人力发挥最大的效能,急救医疗组织向着集中管理,统一指挥方面发展。毫无疑问,这将节省大量资金和人力。
