Beginning in the 1960s, emerging environmental problems forced humanity to rethink and locate the relationship between man and nature. With the growing global ecological problems, research on ecological awareness has grown rapidly. At the same time, giving the brand new ecological connotation and meaning of writing has also become the inevitable trend of the development of ecological research. In this paper, taking Jack London’s representative animal novel Call of the Wild as an example, this article finds out the author’s ecological consciousness from the perspective of ecological criticism. Through the excavation of the implied ecological awareness, we can arouse people’s ecological awareness and also express the ecological ideal that mankind longs for harmonious coexistence with nature.
