Pecola and Sula are the heroines of the first two works by Tony Morrison. Their different growth experiences show the difficult journey of black women in disadvantaged positions under the dual pressures of racism and sexism. The analysis of these two women reveals the truth that only by inheriting the national cultural values and aesthetic values can African Americans, especially black women, survive in a healthy American society where white culture is the mainstream. If we abandon our own cultural values , The result can only be self-defeating.
