The Shanghai Institute of Building Science and Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. have collaborated on a new type of insulation material - microporous calcium silicate. This material is made of diatomaceous earth, lime, water and a small amount of asbestos, water glass, etc., and is made by stirring, gelling, molding, autoclaving, and drying.
