Floods and droughts can cause all humankind to suffer from climate-related suffering, with the main goal being to understand how humans can change the incidence and severity of these events by changing the land-water cycle. In view of the current human-land-cover change, we use 1,500 estimates of global evapotranspiration and global land-cover change database data to map changes in global land-based evaporation (TET). The geographical model shows that the change of land cover of about 3 500 km3 reduces annual evapotranspiration by 5% and the largest change of evapotranspiration is related to wetlands and reservoirs. Surface modeling simulations confirmed these evapotranspiration variations and increased runoff (7.6%) as a result of land cover changes. Although this is uncertain, the result shows that the land cover
