梁启超痛心中国新法数十年而效不睹,提出“小说界革命”的口号,欲用新小说以新民,将小说纳入民族救亡大业之中,这在客观上帮助白话小说提高了文化地位。但是,“小说界革命”的终极目标是重建社会政治秩序、开启民智,而小说自身的文体价值、文本地位并没有多大的变化。作为历史转型期独特的文学、文化现象,言情小说虽经“新小说”倡导者严格限制,却在清末民初呈现出繁荣的局面
Liang Qi-chang distressed the Chinese new law for decades and did not see it. He put forward the slogan of “revolution in fiction circles” and wanted to use the new novels as a new citizen to bring the novel into the great cause of national salvation, which objectively helped to improve the cultural position of vernacular novel. However, the ultimate goal of “revolution in fiction circles” is to rebuild social and political order and open up the wisdom of the people. However, the fictional value and text status of the novel itself have not changed much. As a unique literary, cultural phenomenon and romance novel in the historical transformation period, although strictly restricted by advocates of “new novels”, it has shown a prosperous situation at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China
