In MIG welding, the quality of metal spatter and weld is closely related to the transitional nature of wire metal. Jet transition is the most appropriate form of transition. Some conditions have been discussed for the transition of metal wire in gas shielded welding, but the reasons for this transition have not been adequately studied. In this work, we want to discuss the conditions for the formation of jet transition from the effective ionization potential Vi of the arc gas and its thermal conductivity λ. The method of SKS-1M camera shooting was used to study the transition form, and the electrical parameters of this process were recorded
