Carbapenem ases refers to a class of β-lactamases that can significantly hydrolyze imipenem or meropenem and include the three classes A, B and D of the AMBLER molecule. Among them, B is a metalloenzyme belonging to 3 groups of BUSH functional classification; A and D classes are serine enzymes belonging to 2f and 2d sub-groups of BUSH classification respectively [1,2]. This article is mainly directed against the discovery, clustering and biochemical characteristics of class D carbapenemases
