The U.S. Navy’s UFO satellite provides the Department of Defense with unprotected narrow-band tactical satellite communications (SATCOM) capabilities. As an unprotected narrowband communications executive, the Navy must develop and develop a system that will replace UFO satellites. The MUOS is the Navy’s replacement for UFO satellites. The system not only meets the needs of current users, but also provides additional communications capabilities to meet future communications needs.
