江南春日的一个下午,我们如约来到了苏州城西环境幽静的彩香新村某幢某宅,轻叩大门,一位身板硬朗、精神矍铄的老人出现在面前。握手,问候,随和热情的老人使我们一见如故。 他就是被人们誉为中国体坛元老之一的程金冠先生。程先生历经80余年风雨沧桑,耳不聋,眼不花,依然行动利索,思路清晰。1995年底,他由中国老年人体协、全国老龄委等单位评为“中国最佳健康老人”,这是江苏省得此称号仅有的一人。 程老谈及半个多世纪的体育生涯,谈及与海峡彼岸同窗好友的联系与交往,言语之间,充溢着对体育事业的挚爱,对祖国统一的期盼。

He is known as one of China’s sports elders Cheng Jin Guan. Cheng after more than 80 years of vicissitudes of life, do not deaf, do not blind, still action agile, clear thinking. At the end of 1995, he was named “China’s Best Healthy Elderly” by the China Association of Geriatric Arsis and the National Committee on Aging, which is the only one in Jiangsu Province to win this title. Speaking about the sports career of more than half a century, Chenglao talked about the contacts and exchanges with his friends on the other side of the Taiwan Strait. Between words, he filled with his love for sports and his expectation of the reunification of the motherland.
