In this paper, the special clay with high clay content --- red clay as an example, the interaction between three phases of cohesive soil is studied. It is pointed out that this effect will affect some physical and hydraulic properties of cohesive soil. It differs from the definition of an indicator in that it affects both the physical and hydrological properties of the soil
