This article discusses the characteristics of English learning and education in the context of globalization and the challenges and opportunities it presents. The language culture in the context of globalization has the characteristics of “moving” and “changing”, and its process breaks or weakens the original distinction between English as the “foreign language” and “second language” It comes with a series of break-ups in the frontiers: “learning” with “using” or “entertainment”, classrooms “inside” and classrooms “outside”, “virtual” and “ ”Reality“ and other boundaries of the context. The breaking of these boundaries brings challenges and opportunities to our English learning, education and related research. Basic concepts such as ”target language“, ”learning context“, ”learner“, ”educator“, ”learning process“, ”learning result" have yet to be revisited; Re-examination of resources, positioning and development, is expected to inject new vitality into our English education.
