在建党八十二周年之际,中宣部等八单位7月1日上午联合召开学习贯彻“三个代表”重要思想理论研讨会。胡锦涛总书记发表重要讲话,突出强调了立党为公、执政为民是“三个代表”的本质,并特别指出,是否牢牢把握立党为公、执政为民,是衡量有没有真正学懂,是不是真心实践“三个代表”最重要的标志。在“七一”这样一个特殊时刻,以理论研讨会的形式学习贯彻“三个代表”,表明中央对进一步动员全党兴起学习贯彻“三个代表”重要思想新高潮,将“三个代表”落实为执政党的具体行动的决心。
