黑人的文化身份问题是莫里森作品的主题之一。《所罗门之歌》向世人展示了神秘的黑人文化及其影响,展现出文化属性对其生活的积极意义。莫里森在这部小说中暗示了黑人文化是主人公奶娃南方之旅所寻找到的真正金子,并倡导广大非裔进行文化传统回归,勇敢表现黑人文化自信。本文从故事情节的发展入手,分析了黑人青年奶娃文化身份的迷失、寻求和回归过程,指出黑人文化在白人主流社会对非裔确立自身身份的重要价值。
The cultural identity of blacks is one of the themes of Morrison’s work. The song of Solomon shows the mysterious black culture to the world and its influence, demonstrating the positive significance of cultural attributes to their life. Morrison hinted in this novel that black culture is the real gold sought by the heroine’s southern tour and advocates for the return of the majority of Afro-Asian cultural traditions and bravery of black cultural self-confidence. Starting with the development of the storyline, this article analyzes the lost, seeking and returning process of the cultural identity of the black youth and points out the important value of the black culture in establishing the identity of African Americans in the white mainstream society.
