汤尼·白露(Tani E.Barlow)现任美国莱斯大学赵廷箴与怀芳亚洲学研究中心主任,历史系教授。她的著作《中国女性主义思想史中的妇女问题》2012年被翻译成中文出版。该书论述了中国启蒙知识分子对妇女整体不断发展的描述。在论证几代理论家如何与国际思潮进行辩争的过程中,涵盖了优生学、社会性别、性意识、精神分析思想、文学批评、道德伦理以及革命政治意识形态等诸多方面,阐述了中国女性主义理论所关注的性别平等问题。围绕该书提出的问题,上海交通大学王杰教授与汤尼白露教授进行了一次访谈,讨论了中国的女性主义、左翼理论以及马克思主义美学的历史与未来。
Tani E. Barlow is currently a professor and professor of history at Zhao Ting-zhen and Huai-fang Asian Studies Center, Rice University. Her book “Women’s Issues in the History of Chinese Feminist Thoughts” was translated into Chinese in 2012. The book discusses the Chinese enlightenment of intellectuals on the overall development of women described. In the course of demonstrating how several generations of theorists have argued with the international trend of thought, it covers many aspects of eugenics, gender, sexual awareness, psychoanalysis, literary criticism, moral ethics and revolutionary political ideology, Gender issues of concern to doctrine theory. Around the book’s questions, Professor Wang Jie of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Professor Tony Whitehall conducted an interview to discuss the history and future of China’s feminism, left-wing theory and Marxist aesthetics.
