21世纪是生态文明时代。作为高校人文素质教育重要组成部分的英语文学课程担负着传播新型文明、培养具有国际化视野和时代精神的创新型人才的重任。英语文学课程的改革既是时代的需求又是实现自身可持续发展的必然要求。作为本世纪方兴未艾的一门交叉边缘学科,教育生态学是生态哲学在教育领域的延伸和应用,其理念对于英语文学教学具有重大指导意义。基于教育生态学的英语文学课改革以培养学习者道德完善、精神世界丰富、内心和谐统一的生态人格为目的,以审美教学和生态课堂构建为手段,贴近时代精神,迎合了新时期高等教育发展和建设生态文明社会的需要。
