A new method was used to obtain the flameout samples after the combustion was stopped. The structure and morphology of the quenched surface of GAP / AN propellants were studied by scanning electron microscopy and energy spectrum analysis. Burning rate regulator CA has a significant effect on the combustion process of GAP / AN propellants. CA changes the structure of quenched surface and accelerates the decomposition reaction of condensed phase
